Headteacher's Welcome
HEADTEACHER'S WELCOME

Welcome to Mount Stuart Primary’s website. I hope you find it an informative and enjoyable visit that provides you with an insight into our vibrant and happy school.

Our school is situated in the heart of Cardiff Bay, a rapidly developing area within the capital city. It has a proud history of embracing children and families from the culturally diverse community of Butetown. The school promotes and benefits from strong partnerships with its parents and the local community. It also benefits from links with Cardiff Bay’s business and enterprise projects and local amenities. This results in a wide range of exciting and stimulating experiences for its pupils.

The school was first established in 1973 before becoming re-housed in the current building in 1996. This modern design includes a single storey building for its Early Years pupils and a larger two-storey building. It has a circular hall, an ICT suite, a large number of computers and laptops for classroom use and communal areas for enhanced learning. The children enjoy the use of large playground areas and the playing field.

All staff and governors are committed to providing the best possible learning experiences to suit the needs and interests of every child. The team works closely and cohesively together towards ensuring that each child feels valued and achieves their best. Learning and teaching at Mount Stuart continues to develop alongside a robust programme of professional development. The staff provide a wide range of out-of-hours activities that enhance the children’s academic, creative and physical development.

Mount Stuart is a warm, safe and secure environment where everyone is supported to live and learn together. Please feel welcome to browse our website to learn more or contact the school to arrange a visit at any time.
